VEPO VALOR Builds Connections at the Fort Lee Resource Event and Career Fair

Connecting in Person at Fort Lee

On May 21, 2026, Jon and Allen represented VEPO Solutions and the VALOR Program at the Fort Lee Resource Event, Networking and Career Fair, held in partnership with Virginia Values Veterans.

The event provided an opportunity to connect directly with service members, Veterans, community organizations, and other employers committed to supporting military talent. Jon and Allen shared information about VEPO’s career opportunities, the purpose of the VALOR Program, and the continued support available to Veterans as they pursue their next professional chapter.

Events like this are important because they allow the VALOR team to move beyond virtual introductions and build meaningful relationships face to face. Each conversation helps us better understand the goals, experiences, and challenges of transitioning service members while strengthening connections with the organizations that support them.

An Important VALOR Team Milestone

The trip also marked the first time Jon and Allen met and worked together in person.

Although the VALOR team collaborates closely while working remotely, attending the event together created an opportunity to strengthen that partnership while representing VEPO VALOR in the military community.

The trip did not go entirely according to plan. Jon’s flight was delayed by 24 hours, preventing him from joining Allen for outreach activities scheduled the day before the event. Allen still traveled throughout Richmond and surrounding areas to meet in person with Veteran service organizations, including both established partners and new community contacts.

The return trip brought additional travel delays for both team members, making the experience especially memorable. Despite the challenges, the opportunity to connect with service members, Veteran organizations, and one another made the trip worthwhile.

Strengthening Our Community Presence

Seeing the VEPO VALOR logo included on the installation’s official event flyer was another meaningful moment. It reflected the continued growth of the program and VEPO’s expanding presence within the military and Veteran employment community.

We appreciate the event organizers, Virginia Values Veterans, and everyone who took the time to connect with us. We look forward to building on the relationships established during the event and continuing to support Veterans and transitioning service members as they explore their next mission.
